World Diabetes Day

Approximately 1 in 3 adults are prediabetic. Just because it’s “prediabetic” doesn’t mean it is not serious. Prediabetes means that your blood sugar is higher than normal, but not high enough to be diagnosed with diabetes.

Warning signs of prediabetes include: increased thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, and excess hunger, but sometimes prediabetes have no clear symptoms. Risk factors include: Obesity, being older than 45 years old and having a family member diagnosed with diabetes.

Prediabetes can lead to diabetes and other serious conditions if left untreated. Thankfully prediabetes is reversible with simple lifestyle changes.

Here at Moose Pharmacy, we offer a free 12-month Diabetes Prevention Program. The program is CDC created and has been shown to reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58%. A life coach will help focus on healthy eating and physical activity with 1 hour sessions every week and then monthly sessions.

Our program will help you develop a better lifestyle. Also stay engaged for a chance to win free prizes! Contact Dr. Kiera Emery at 704-784-9613 for more information.
